Oil marketers gives FG seven-days ultimatum to clear all outstanding debts.
Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) threatens the Federal government that they will shutdown depots. The Oil marketers stated that they would force its members to relieve workers from various depots. They gave the Federal Government seven-days ultimatum to clear all outstanding debts.
According to a News source @Cable.ng which Confirmed the seven-day ultimatum, The legal adviser to IPPI Patrick Etim,stated that banks have taken over investments and assets of oil marketers over unpaid debts which is totalling N800 billion.
Etim further briefed that the marketers have no choice that to ask their workers to stay at home over unpaid salary arrears due to huge subsidy debts owed by the government.
“The only way to salvage the situation is for government to pay the oil marketers the outstanding debts through cash option instead of promissory note being proposed,” he said.
